Ga cops answer to ‘swatting’ call at property of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene

Five officers confirmed up at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s house overnight right after an alleged opponent of her stance on transgender rights built a untrue 911 call, Georgia law enforcement mentioned Wednesday.

The “swatting” call falsely claimed that a male experienced been shot a number of instances in a bathtub at a residence in Rome, Georgia, the city’s law enforcement section explained in a report shared with CNBC.

The Rome Police Department at 1:04 a.m. ET dispatched five officers, who were instructed on the way that they had been headed to Greene’s residence, the report claimed. They rang the doorbell and had been achieved by the Republican congresswoman, who “certain us there was no concern,” the report reported.

A spokeswoman for the office informed CNBC that the officers checked Greene’s dwelling.

The suspect “described that they were being upset about Ms. Greene’s stance on ‘trans-gender youth’s rights’, and said that they were being attempting to ‘SWAT’ her,” the police report stated.
