Two U.S. Military Blackhawk helicopters crashed for the duration of a coaching incident in Kentucky on Wednesday night, officers reported.

“The status of the crew members are unfamiliar at this time. The command is at this time focused on caring for the servicemembers and their family members,” the Army foundation Fort Campbell reported in a assertion early Thursday.

The helicopters involved ended up from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), it mentioned.

They were being concerned in a teaching incident when they crashed all around 10 p.m. in Trigg County, which is to the west of Fort Campbell, in accordance to base officials.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear explained fatalities are envisioned.

“We have got some hard information out of Fort Campbell, with early reviews of a helicopter crash and fatalities are expected,” Beshear tweeted. He reported condition law enforcement and community officers are responding.

“Be sure to pray for all individuals impacted,” Beshear said in the message.

Kentucky Point out Law enforcement had been on the scene of the helicopter crash, together with armed service investigators and many other businesses, the department stated in a news release early Thursday morning.

It stated the status of the personnel aboard the helicopters could not however be verified.

Nicknamed the “Screaming Eagles,” the 101st Airborne Division is the only air assault division of the U.S. Army. It was activated on Aug. 16, 1942 and is based close to Kentucky’s border with Tennessee.
